We are off!! First fish of 2019!!

Finally managed to do a quick session. Caught a few small carp. Great to get back out again. Henry got among the carp today and caught a really chunky one. Hopefully we can get back out again soon. 

All the gear & No idea...but **PB RUDD**

Pretty tough conditions. Trying a few different methods to catch a monster pike but nothing today. One last day to get one. Tried float fishing in the boatyard and caught a massive Rudd and my new pb...didn’t weigh it but say it was 2lbs. (Hoping for a miracle tomorrow but if not...was great to catch a small pike in testing conditions

Return to Norfolk 

A tough start to the trip. Tried the likely spots from the boat but no success.
Finally managed to catch a small (but very welcome) pike.
Actually quite a miracle to catch this...after a monster but even catching the small ones proving to be really difficult at the moment. But I’m up for the challenge and the week ain’t over yet...

Norfolk Round-up **PB Bream**

Had a great week in Potter Heigham - Norfolk on the River Thurne. Tried all week to catch a pike but no joy this trip. Caught some great perch and managed to catch a huge bream and my personal best (6lbs guesstimate). Was brilliant to take our new boat 'Bridie' out too. Will hopefully catch some big pike aboard the boat soon enough.

A quick spin at Dedham...

Spent the day at Dedham on the river Stour. A new venue. Travelled with a tiny telescopic rod and cast spinners in between the heavy hire boat traffic. Managed to catch one small perch (with my niece). Will be back here having scoped out a few potential spots.

Nephews Assemble

Had a quick session at the local lake with the nephews. We all caught a few carp and a couple of roach/rudd each. Not so lucky with the weather...but great to get catching again!

Reservoir Pikes

Got very lucky at the reservoir today. A cancellation meant that a boat was available so we nabbed it. Managed to catch 4...one close to double figures (may have even been 10lbs). Brilliant to be back afloat and even better to be amongst the pike again.

Dad's 65th

For my Dad's birthday we had a superb day out at Chigboro Fisheries learning to FlyFish. Our expert tutor Nigel Angus gave us great advice and his overall knowledge of the trouts behaviour and environment (including all forms of flies and insects) was superb. We both caught a couple...and lost a couple...but was an amazing day out at a fantastic venue. 

Rainbow's End 

Had a return visit to llys-y-fran reservoir . Last fished here 25 years ago, but this time adrift on a boat. Rounded off the welsh week with 5 rainbow trout in total. (My dad even managed to catch 2 on the fly and one rudd). A brilliant end to an amazing week in Wales...will be back...when the salmon are running.

Teifi Trout **New PB** and **New Species**

Having a week in Wales - Cenarth on the River Teifi. Day two and managed to catch a new species...a 'bullhead' (one of the micro species). Also managed to catch my biggest brown trout. Still hopeful of a salmon...

Return Visit...

Returned to the same spot as before, but this time it was cold and windy. Fred won with a nice common carp and two roach - I managed a small common and a bream. Nice couple of fish on what turned out to be a freezing day.

First fish of 2017!

Had a quick session at a new venue. Caught a few small carp, roach, rudd and bream. Had been told the lake holds Tench and Ide so was hoping to catch them..but not this time...so we'll be back.

Adrift again...

Had another great day out on a boat on Ardleigh Reservoir. Fred caught his 2nd pike (ever). I managed to catch 2 on quite a tricky day. We'll be back!

Norfolk Week - **PB PERCH** (x3)

Just come back from a great week on the Norfolk Broads. Caught loads of roach, perch, bream, a few rudd, gudgeon, ruffe, but no pike sadly (no eels either). We all managed to catch our personal best perch in the same spot. Mine on a spinner Henry and Fred's both caught float fishing. A great week - and now we have our own boat! Hopefully a few more norfolk trips to come soon!!

Hat-trick of Pike from New Venue!

Arguably the best days fishing Ive had yet. Got out in the boat at Ardleigh Reservoir and caught three pike (10lbs each approx) and a perch.  Scorching hot but fishing was superb. Will be back here soon!

NORFOLK - A pike at last!

A tricky weeks fishing in Norfolk. Having caught my PB pike from this spot I was hopeful of a good fish but wasn't to be. Caught some good perch and roach but as there were no signs of pike I got in the row boat. Took it out to one of the broads and finally caught a pike of about 3lbs. Will definitely be back - next time with an outboard motor.
